Basic techniques course in sea kayaking

Sea kayak baptism. Course designed for all those who want to learn to navigate a sea kayak in calm waters, with winds up to F3 Beaufort scale, always with a partner by their side. Ideal to make a first contact with the kayak in an idyllic setting such as Cap de Creus. Learn the techniques to build an optimal paddling, technical handling skills and learn how to rescue a capsized buddy. To be a totally autonomous and prepared paddler, it is also recommended to take the level 2 course for beginners.

  • Get to know the different types of kayaks and their origin
  • Know the parts of the kayak and the equipment to be used
  • Learn to regulate kayaking and know the paddle position
  • Learn and practice effective propulsion shovel focusing on trunk rotation, shovel phases and work to find the optimal paddle position
  • Back off to go backwards
  • Drive the kayak with the circular paddle and the braking paddle incident on the torsion of the trunk
  • Porting, boarding and disembarking on a beach
  • Rescue a companion in deep water
